Taking part in the Great Democracy#039;
In the last few months two citizen groups formed in an effort to solve problems they see.
One is REMAC which wants greater member access to Pioneer Electric and the second is the Greenville Taxpayers for Honest Government.
That is the great thing about living in our country.
If we don't like what is happening, we have the right to pull together and change it.
There have been those in recent weeks who cite these groups as troublemakers, but are they really?
We don't think so.
We believe they are citizens who are exercising their freedom to congregate, freedom to oppose what they see as wrong and the freedom to make change happen.
That is a major problem we have in our society.
Far too often, we have lots of people who are discouraged by what they see happening, but they don't stand up for themselves.
They watch others standing alone and often mock them for letting their voice be heard.
Don't do that.
Go and embrace these people and let them know you share their concerns.
Don't discourage them, but rather support them.
And if you don't agree with what they are trying to do, under a democracy that is your right too.
