Holly Raulerson, 29, has been named publisher of The (Houston, Miss.) Times-Post and The (Calhoun City, Miss.) Monitor-Herald and president of Houston Newspapers, Inc.
She succeeds Sam Hall who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
Raulerson is the former advertising director for Greenville Newspapers, a position she has held the past two years. Prior to coming to Greenville she worked in advertising at The (Andalusia) Star-News. She begins work in Houston tomorrow.
Houston Newspapers, as is Greenville Newspapers, is a part of the Boone Newspapers, Inc., organization of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
&uot;I’ve enjoyed my time at the Greenville Advocate so much which makes it difficult to leave,&uot; Raulerson said. &uot;However, I’m excited about the new opportunity I have ahead of me in Houston. It would not be possible without the experience I’ve acquired in Greenville. I consider it a privilege to have worked along side each member of our Advocate team and will miss each of them and the many people in this community that have been very kind to me and have made my time here very rewarding.&uot;
Greenville Newspapers' publisher Dennis Palmer said Raulerson will be greatly missed but is excited about the opportunity she has before her.
&uot;After working with Holly the past nine months I know she has what it takes to succeed in her role in Houston,&uot; he said. &uot;One of her goals has been to become publisher of a community newspaper and I'm happy to see she has achieved that. The people of Houston and Calhoun City are lucky to be getting her and I know she'll be a great asset to those communities.&uot;
