Tigers go 1-2 in Andalusia tourney

The Greenville Lady Tigers came in fifth at Andalusia's softball tournament Saturday.
The Lady Tigers took on Andalusia that morning and came away with their only win of the day. Down 4-3 in the fourth inning, the Ladies rallied in the fifth inning to score four runs to Andalusia's one and win the game, 7-5.
Lakyn Newton pitched the complete game giving up only one earned run. At the plate, she went two for two with one run, a triple and three RBIs. Kanidra Lewis went one for three at the plate with one run and one RBI. And Adrian McMeans was one for two with one run and one RBI.
The second game of the tournament saw the Lady Tigers fall to Charles Henderson, 12-1, with the only score coming from Kalette Mixon in the fourth inning. Mandy Wright went one for two at the plate and Victoria Crenshaw was one for one. Newton was the loosing pitcher for the game.
Eufaula handed the ladies their second loss of the day, 3-2, as the Tigers couldn't score in the final two innings. Newton pitched the complete game giving up no earned runs. Greenville's two scores came from Jessica Thomas and Lakyn Newton. Newton was one of three at bats and Thomas had two walks. Kalette Mixon went one for two with a walk and Kanitra Lewis went one for two.
The Lady Tigers' next game is in one week when they travel to Highland Home, Wednesday, March 19.
