The sounds of the Christmas season abounded throughout the area this year as voices far and wide rang out the good news of the Savior's birth.

A number of area congregations presented musicals, plays and cantatas, including the children and youth of Union Baptist Church in Honoraville.

Seen here are Kerri Middleton, Ashley Newton, Andy Burns and Josh Roper performing in their church's musical presentation of the original Christmas story, featuring well-loved hymns and scripture from the Gospels of Luke and Matthew.

The colorful poinsettias featured in the foreground of the picture were donated to the church for the holidays in honor or memory of loved ones by the members of the Union congregation.
