At approximately 8 a.m. Friday a suspect walked in to the Corner Grocery on Garfield Street wearing a Halloween mask and pulled a gun on the owner, Rev. Roy Gandy.

Gandy looked up at the suspect and asked him what he wanted, but could not understand him through the mask.

&uot;He mumbled something through the mask and I told him that he needs to get what he wants before someone comes else comes in,&uot; said Gandy.

Gandy said the suspect then looked at the door and ran out of it, still holding the gun on him. Gandy said he rushed to see the direction the suspect had left in and then notified the police.

Police responded and, with the help of local residents, located the suspect, Russelle Ladon Gregory, a 20-year old male, at a residence on World Street.

Investigators later recovered the mask and a 38 cal. revolver from the top of a shed on Perdue St.

Gregory was arrested and charged with robbery, first degree. He is currently being held on bond.

Chief Lonzo Ingram said he was very happy this arrest had been made.

&uot;We appreciate the patrol division and the criminal investigators for their quick response. I particularly want to thank the citizens in the community who provided the information that led to the arrest of this person,&uot; he said.
