White Oak Golf Club will be sponsoring a "celebrity" golf tournament July 13, with such participants as the staff of "Good Morning Montgomery" and former University of Alabama center Roger Schulz.
The tournament will be a four-person scramble which will be held in three flights, therefore, there will be three different winning teams. There also will be a hole-in-one contest with a prize of $10,000 up for grabs.
Golf course superintendent Ronnie Terry said that spots are still available but pre-registration is required with a fee of $160 per team. He said he feels the tournament is going to be a big event, with several "celebrities" participating.
"We're just going to have a big time," Terry said.
Participants include the staff of "Good Morning Montgomery," Joe Haigler, Jim Bohanan, "Windy Breeze" of "Good Morning Montgomery," former University of Alabama center Roger Schulz and "Big C" Colin MacGuire.
Tournament donors include Greenville Newspapers, L.L.C., Quality Co-op, Walker Business Supply, The Pinckard Agency and Tidbits. "Good Morning Montgomery" also donated $100 for the "closest to the hole" contest on Hole #4.
The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. July 13 with a shotgun start. For more information, contact Ronnie Terry at 383-1909.
