Thanks goes out to all the poll workers

Tuesday was a long day for some residents of Butler County. The day began at 7:30 a.m. and for some, did not end until approximately 8 p.m.

Those who went to the various polling houses around Butler County to vote yesterday saw many of the people who made the elections possible

the poll workers.

Their hours of service to their county began last Thursday when a poll workers' class was held at the Ritz Theatre from 2 p.m. n 4 p.m. At this session, they were instructed on what to do if problems should occur during the voting process.

At the end of their day on Tuesday, the workers were paid only $73 for approximately a 12-hour day.

At many of the voting houses, there was no air conditioning, and the typical June weather was certainly that

typical. But still, the workers volunteered their time, and kept smiles on their faces.

Kudos to those 159 workers in the 22 voting houses around Butler County. Thank you for your time and your efforts, and for helping solve problems as they arose throughout the day.
