Spring has sprung. The leaves are green, the flowers are blooming and the sun is shining bright. Springtime brings a newness and freshness that pulls people from the comfort of the inside of their homes to the freshness and warm breezes outside.

Spring also brings more visitors to the area to visit relatives, to spend some time at Sherling Lake and just to stop in to for gas and food.

With that said, there's nothing harsher on the eye than a city filled with trash.

This isn't New Orleans and isn't New York City.

Greenville is a beautiful town that residents and visitors enjoy because of it's beauty.

Councilman Jeddo Bell said it best Monday when he commented that he leaves his house clean in the morning so that he can come home to a clean house in the afternoon. We should treat the city as we do our homes.

Make an effort this spring to keep Greenville green and clean.'Make the best small town in America also the cleanest.
