For several months now, America has been facing a recession. Many Alabamians have struggled through it, and many have yet to see relief.
The workforce isn't like it used to be, when it was normal for a person to spend 20-plus years with the same company, and then eventually retire.
Job security is a phrase that doesn't have meaning for the most part in today's America, and the economy is suffering from it.
The Economic Stimulus Package that recently passed in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate brings hope to some unemployed workers. The bill would help many workers train for new positions while also receiving an income.
Across the nation, the proposed package would provide over $9 million to workers who have been affected by the recession, if the president signs the bill.
President Bush needs to sign this bill. It is important for our unemployment rate to decrease and to get our economy back on track.
