The Greenville Days Inn was robbed in the early hours Sunday morning and an unknown subject got away with over $200.

According to Days Inn Manager Melissa Bradley, employee Crystal Ramos of Greenville was behind the counter when a subject wearing a bandanna over his nose and mouth and a hat pulled down over his eyes came through a side door of the lobby with a shotgun.

According to Bradley, Ramos described the subject as a black male, approximately 5'7" or 5'8," stocky build, wearing a black jacket and gold chain with a cross.

Bradley said the subject demanded money and told Ramos to let him into the manager's office and the safe.

According to Bradley, Ramos did not have a key to the manager's office and told the subject that she could not get into the office. The subject then demanded the money from the drawer at the counter and Ramos gave him the money.

Bradley said the subject then forced Ramos into the women's bathroom she overheard him tell a second subject whom she had not seen to shoot her if she came out of the bathroom before five minutes were up.

According to Bradley, the subject then turned to leave through a back door and, according to Bradley, noticed another entry to the manager's office.

Bradley said the subject then returned and told Ramos to let him into the office and she once again said she could not.

During this time, Bradley said the subject hit Ramos in the head. The subject then left the building and Ramos called 911.

According to Greenville Police Chief Lonzo Ingram, the incident is still under investigation and anyone with any information should call the police department at 382-7461.
