Rev. Algia Edwards and members of Friendship AME Zion Church, Sweet Home AME Zion and Forest Home Church gathered at Pine Needle Retirement Home in Greenville to celebrate the Christmas holiday with residents.
Children from the churches passed out fruit bags and cards to the residents and Algia Edwards Jr. played Christmas music on saxophone. Rev. Otis Fleeton of Spring Hill and Mount Moriah Baptist Churches led a prayer and Rev. Algia Edwards read scriptures and spoke about Jesus' birth.
"We would like to thank Piggly Wiggly, Mack Lee and Poole and Poole Attorneys for their contributions," Edwards said.
AME Zion Church and Sweet Home AME Zion Church also contributed three boxes of fruit for the less fortunate this holiday season.
