Tree lighting ceremony to be held tomorrow
Greenville Main Street and the Greenville Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. in Confederate Park.
The ceremony will feature the tree lighting by Mayor Dexter McLendon and a musical ensemble by the Greenville High School band.
The tree was dedicated by the Carroll Gardner family of Forest Home and was placed in Confederate Park Tuesday morning.
According to Main Street President Nancy Idland, the stores in downtown Greenville will be open until 7 p.m. the night of the tree lighting ceremony as a special part of the event.
Idland said that it is important for the citizens of Greenville to know that the stores are open and that they should take advantage of the stores being open.
