The newly renovated Greenville Animal Shelter personnel held their ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday.
Ann Daughtry serves as president of the Butler County Humane Society. She said the Humane Society is in the process of renovating the facility including renovating the kennel and installing a new heating and air system in the facility.
"It has taken us three years to get to this point in the process of remodeling," Daughtry said.
Animals brought into the shelter are either strays picked up by the police or other individuals and owners of pets who need to get rid of the animal.
Several donations made the renovations possible and Daughtry said she would like to "personally thank the members and donors."
Donors include Thomas Sanderson who donated framed prints, Middleton Oil Company who donated the animal shelter sign, Terrell Enterprises who donated the office table and chairs, Sasanqua Garden Club who donated planters, Jennifer Stringer who donated plants and Dusk Tucker who groomed Sarge (dog in picture).
The shelter also will be holding a benefit concert Saturday night at the Ritz featuring Rock Killough. Killough's wife was a large supporter of the Humane Society and Killough is giving this benefit concert in her honor. Tickets will be available at the door for $10. The concert will begin at 7 p.m.
