October is a busy month for Greenville Main Street as they kick off the annual Oktoberfest and Trade Day, and the annual Scarecrow Contest.
"Greenville does a lot of decorating in the fall and we just want to add to the spirit," said Nancy Idland, president of Greenville Main Street.
The Scarecrow Contest is open to any business in town and will be judged on October 17. All entries must be in by October 10.
"We'd like to thank Jennifer Stringer, the city horticulturist, and her staff for all of her hard work on this project," said Tom Braxton, vice-president and chair of the promotions of Greenville Main Street.
The winner of the contest will receive a gourmet catered lunch for up to 10 people and a gourmet goodie basket.
