Junior Miss set for next Saturday

Twelve high school seniors from across Butler County will take the stage of Greenville's Ritz Theater on Saturday evening, September 15, at 7 p.m. to vie for the title of Butler County Junior Miss 2002.

"It's a Tropical Paradise with Junior Miss" is the theme for this year's program, which will be hosted by the reigning Miss Camellia, Scarlotte Duepree.

Greenville's Meredith Mosley, the county's 2001 Junior Miss and Greenville's female Achiever of the Year for 2001, is slated to perform along with past and present Junior Miss winners from surrounding counties.

"We have a special surprise in store this year for my performanceit's going to be fun," comments Mosley.

"We have girls from every town in the county this yearwe are really excited to have Butler County so well represented in this year's program," says Carol Lee, Chamber of Commerce director and Junior Miss Program representative.

The Junior Miss program puts a strong emphasis on scholarship, physical fitness and talent along with poise and appearance, seeking out the truly outstanding young American woman.

Tickets will be available at the door at a cost of $5 per person.
