Alabama#039;s Million Dollar Band to host tent before each game

Tuscaloosa, Ala n The Million Dollar Band Association will present a gigantic tent on the lawn of Doster Hall, at the University of Alabama beginning Saturday, September 1.
The tent will be in a central location, next to the Rose Administration Building, where band alumni, friends and supporters can meet Sept. 1 and at every home football game this season.
&uot;We have the 20-ft. Bear Bryant hat that will serve as the entrance to the tent, said Steve Mays, board member and chairperson. &uot;A 50-60 piece Million Dollar Pep Band will be playing beginning about two hours before kickoff.&uot;
Available for sale at the tent will be Million Dollar Band compact discs, &uot;History of The Million Dollar Band&uot; videos, custom-engraved pens, glow sticks, T-shirts, hats, food, memberships to the Band Alumni Association and University of Alabama southern cookbooks.
The Alabama Organ Center also will have a table set up to sign up organ donors.
&uot;We're also really excited about selling chances to win $25,000,&uot; said Mays. &uot;All proceeds will go to the Association’s Operational Fund, which focuses on funding needed for scholarships and other financial aid to the students of the Million Dollar Band.
&uot;Million Dollar Band alumni, friends and supporters should stop by n We’ll have plenty of box lunches catered by Heavenly Ham for $6 and fun for everyone,&uot; he said.
&uot;The Million Dollar Band is the Alabama football team’s most faithful companion,&uot; said Clark White, the association's immediate past president. &uot;We would love to see every band alumni, friend and supporter stop by and renew friendships.
Homecoming has become so busy that we decided to offer a meeting place each game this year.&uot;
