The Rotary Club of Greenville and Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Reserve Lodge 39 are sponsoring the third annual Pro Law Am Golf Tournament at Cambrian Ridge on May 23.

"Proceeds from the event will support the FOP's children's charities," said Peter Hiebel, of the Greenville Rotary Club. "One of the most challenging courses in the country, Robert Trent Jones Cambrian Ridge will again be the site for the tournament.

"For those strong of heart, not in need of professional coaching and who are willing to hit the first ball out of the bag, tee time is 1:30 p.m.," Hiebel said. "For the rest of us, there will be the special added attraction of the Trail Academy of Birmingham conducting a courtesy clinic at 11 a.m."

Hiebel said this is a unique opportunity for golfers to receive professional training, play an extremely challenging round of golf, and contribute to a worthy charity, interact with law enforcement, and represent their corporation.

"Contributions include the golf clinic, 18 holes of champion golf, cart, range balls, practice green, on-course refreshments, prizes, awards ceremony and dinner," Hiebel said. "All this for only $100 per player."

Corporate sponsorships are available for $500, and the price includes fees for four players, corporate name or logo on the hole sponsored, and special notice at the awards ceremony.

"Additional donations are willingly accepted," Hiebel said. "And for those unable to attend, we would appreciate logo items for the goodie bags or prizes for the awards ceremony."

Hiebel said May 23 was chosen with the hope of good weather and optimum course conditions.

"This is prime tourist golf season, however Cambrian Ridge can only reserve 144 individual or 36 teams (four players) for this event," he said. "We are looking forward to welcoming golfers personally."
