Fort Dale seniors receive scholarships

Seniors of Fort Dale Academy this year have received a record $125,000 in scholarships, according to a report submitted to The Greenville Advocate.

Leading the 11 students that have received the awards is Drew Spears and Meredith Mosley, with $32,000 each.

Mosley received $12,000 in a Troy State Leadership Scholarship, $6,000 from both Wallace State Community College and Central Alabama Community College, $4,000 in an LBW Scholarship, $2,500 from the Junior Miss Scholarship, and $1,500 from the Achiever Award Scholarship.

Spears received $15,000 in a University of Alabama Presidential Scholarship, $13,000 from the Troy State University Chancellor Award, and $4,000 from the University of Alabama Capstone Award.

Jonathan Wright received a total of $26,000n$13,000 from the Troy State University Chancellor Award, $6,000 from Auburn University at Montgomery, $4,000 from the University of Alabama Capstone Award, and $1,500 from both the University of South Alabama Achievement Award and the Fort Deposit Arts Council.

Laine English received $9,000 in two awards, $6,000 from the Robert C. Boyd Scholarship and $3,000 from an Auburn University at Montgomery Scholarship.

Patrick Skipper and Stephen Sorrells each received $6,250 in awards.

Skipper received $4,000 in an Auburn University Leadership Award, $1,500 from the Achiever Award Winner Scholarship, $500 in a Pepsi Athletic Scholarship, and $250 from the

O.G. Holley Scholarship.

Sorrells received $2,500 in the Huntington Leadership Scholarship, $1,500 in the Christie Endowed Scholarship, $1,250 in a General Gift Scholarship, and $1,000 in a Patterson Endowed Scholarship.

Tommy Ryan received a $6,000 Golf Scholarship from Sheldon State Community College.

Aja Reynolds received a total of $2,500n$1,500 from the Junior Miss Scholarship and $1,000 from the Butler County ALFA Scholarship.

Lacey Adams and Leslie Smith each received a $2,000 LBW Leadership/Academic Scholarship, and Riley Altiere received a $1,000 Butler County ALFA Scholarship.
