Relay for Life brings Butler County together

The Relay for Life pulls Greenville and Butler County together like no other event. The 2001 edition rolls around in less than a month. Teams from throughout the county are busy raising money for the American Cancer Society fund raiser.

More than a thousand locals will gather at LBW College May 11 to show support for the American Cancer Society, and the community.

The spirit in the air is electrifying, and the enthusiasm of the event isn't replicated in Greenville until the next year.

Cancer continues to be the largest killer in the United States, but research that is made possible by events like the Relay continues to bring us closer to a cure.

Local teams get competitive not only to raise the most money, but also to have the most attractive camp. The Relay is a night for community spirit.

It's not too late to get involved.
