The Luverne Kiwanis Club and Crenshaw Saddle Club announce jointly that the dates for the 14th Annual Crenshaw County Rodeo will be May 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. each evening.
The rodeo will to be held at the Crenshaw Saddle Club Arena on Airport Rd in Luverne.
The Professional Cowboys
Association will once again sanction this year's rodeo. As in the previous 13 years, Bo Campbell Productions will produce this year's rodeo.
Campbell Rodeo Productions produces some 30-plus rodeos per year. In fact, the 2000 edition of the Crenshaw County Rodeo ranked in the top 10 of the Professional Cowboys Association with an excess of 100 rodeos sanctioned by PCA in 2000.
Back with this year's rodeo will be Rudy Burns, one of the top clown acts in all of rodeo. Also performing will be the Cory's (Dick and Lois) who are excellent entertainers.
These two acts alone are worth the price of admission.
The Rodeo weekend will actually kick off with a street dance on Thursday evening, May 10 at 7 p.m. on the street in front of the Crenshaw County Courthouse. The band Patsaliga is once again scheduled to perform. Admission to the street dance is free. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the music and meet the cowboys.
Souvenir Rodeo tee-shirts will be available for purchase starting approximately May 1.
