Fort Dale lays a double-whammy on Pike Lib

Pike Liberal Arts Academy traveled to Greenville on Nov. 30, and got politely spanked, as both the Eagles and the Lady Eagles showed them what it was like to play on their own &uot;new&uot; home court surface.

First the girls played, with Meredith Moseley and Marcey Adams showing the way. Mosely scored 10 points, and Adams had 10 rebounds. The final score was Fort Dale 30, Pike Lib 25.

The Lady Eagles had a record at this point of 3-2.

Next, the boys’ teams played. Once again, it was the Eagles that dominated.

Bill Cates led the scoring with 18 points. It was Justin Pierce who led next, scoring 12 points, and Josh Till chalked up 12 rebounds. This gave the Eagles a 4-1 record, and both teams a record of 3 wins, 2 losses.

The Eagles then hosted Cottage Hill on Dec. 2, and the Lady Eagles stayed true to form.

It was Leslie Smith who led the way for the Lady Eagles, scoring 16 points. Ashley Paulk had the second place honor, with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Next on the court, the boys played.

In a close game, the Eagles finally lost, 55-51 to Cottage Hill.

Justin Pierce again was the top breadwinner, with 14 points to his credit. Adam Crenshaw followed with 11 points and seven assists.

Bill Cates came in third for the Eagles, with 11 points.

The Eagles and Lady Eagles both ended the week with records of 4-2.

Fort Dale Academy will host Monroe Academy Tuesday, Dec. 5 and Sparta Academy on Thursday, Dec. 7. Games start with the jump shot at 4 p.m.
