After years of daytime parades, the Greenville Area Chamber

of CommerceChristmas Parade will be &uot;under the lights&uot; this

Thursday evening.We hope citizens will make plans to attend

the event, which gets underway at6 p.m.The parade is an

excellent &uot;good news&uot; event that is so vitally important

to our community at a time when bad news is all too

common.The downtown lights that have undergone a

refurbishing project this yearwill be illuminated at 5:30

p.m. Thursday. Many of the lights being usedthis year have

been out of service for several years, and have been

revived.Greenville is a special place, and it is events like

the Christmas paradethat help remind everyone of that. See
