Next Tuesday, Sept. 12, is a very important day for Greenville, Ala. The person to lead our city as mayor, and two council persons will be chosen by the city's voters.

The issues have been on the table for quite some time, now, and all the candidates have had an opportunity to let their constituents know where they stand on each and every important issue.

Some candidates have been very adamant about how they feel. Some have been very passionate.

The six candidates on Tuesday's ballot are all good folks.

Don't squander your opportunity to have a voice in the city's government by giving up your opportunity to vote.

The Aug. 22 election attracted several hundred more voters than the 1996 city elections. Many don't anticipate as large a crowd for the run-off election, but we hope the turnout is a surprising high.

Do your part and vote for the candidate or candidates you believe will do what is best for Greenville.

Whatever you believe, whoever you believe, get out and vote on Tuesday.
