Greenville Parks and Recreation All-Stars prepare to travel to state tournaments

Now that the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department teams have beaten up on each other, the best from all of those teams have been selected and named to the All-Star team that will represent the Camellia City in the first round of state tournament Dixie Youth baseball and softball.
The girls' teams will begin their quest this weekend. There are four girls' All-Star teams including girls 10 and under,11 through 12 year-olds, 13 and 14 year-olds and the 15 through 16 team.
The ten year-olds and under began play on Friday in Geneva. Those who earned a spot on this year's team are Brittany White, Whitney Jacks, Shameka Thompson, Halie Burnette, Abbey Mullins, Cory Rice, Taylor Beaugez, Carrie Coker, Michele Hulick, Kayla Johnson, Tylisha Hicks, Shelley Burt, Caroline Waite, Kayla Garlock, Christi Garlock and Kristen Holt. Coaches for the team are Wayne Garlock, Ray Johnson and Susan Wilson.
The 12 and under team traveled to Elba on Friday. The roster included: Mary Autrey, DaNita Crenshaw, Morgan Crenshaw, Victoria Crenshaw, Mikki Harris, Stephanie Hood, Kanitra Lewis, Katoria McDonald, Kendra Mitchell, Constance Morrison, Laura Skipper, Hannah Tilley and Frances Watts. Coaches for the team are Tim Skipper, Clifton Hood and Brender Mitchell.
The 13 and 14 year-old girls will travel to Andalusia today for their first round of the tournament. Members of the All-Star squad are Emily Black, Megan Brooks, LaSondra Cottrell, Tabitha Gafford, Sylvia Gibson, Kimberly Hittell, Whitney Mixon, Lakyn Newton, Heather Norris, Jessica Thomas, Stephanie Townes, Torri White, Whitney White and Danielle Mitchell. Coaches for the team are Melanie Mixon, June Brooks and Steven J. Townes.
The All-Stars for the 15 and 16 years olds began play on Friday in Elba. The members of the team are Crystal Bice, LeAnne Franklin, Shae Hartman, Jade Hill, Erica Lee, Amanda Loftin, Crystal Parmer, Christy Powell, Tamika Savage, Andrea Tutas, Ardith Washington, Dontoya Williams, Heather Wyatt and Heather Corbin. Coaches are Pam Parmer, David Sexton and Gary Hill.
The Dixie Boys' All-Star team will also begin play today as they travel to Elba. The Dixie Boys League has been divided into a 13 year-old division and a 14 year-old team.
The 13 year-old team consists of Brandon Anthony, Cory Ausderau, Charles Barrett Jr., Mason Bass, Joshua Booker, Corey Burnette, Dustin Coker, Scott Corley, Daniel Hartley, Andrew Hartman, Rashad Knight, Bryan Wilson and Trevor Beaugez. Coaches for the team include Greg Burnett, Chuck Barrett and Johnny Anthony.
The 14 year-olds who made the All-Star list are Tyler Beaugez, Clayton Beverly, Joshua Burt, Richard Cowles Jr., Eric Hicks, Digger Kimbro, Ty Langston, John McGough, James Moody, James Phelps Jr., William Pitts and Leon Tetter. Coaches for the team are Ed Kimbro, John McGough and Bo Jackson.
The Dixie Youth League is still playing in their regular season, but the All-Stars have been selected and they will travel to Troy on July 6 for their tournament. Those included on the team are Caleb Blackburn, Justin Bozeman, Ben Coker, Will Farrar, John Louis Golson, Justin Hester, Rico Johnson, Lynn Lewis, Michael McDonald, Adam Moore, David Moore, Brady Newton and David Stephenson. Coaches for the team will be Tim Dunsford, Mike McDonald and Bill Farrar.
The GPRD's Minor League will begin play when the tournament comes to Greenville on July 1. Members of that squad include Davis Watts, Blake Mullins, Hunter Paul, Nicholas Albritton, Nicholas Blackmon, Ethan Mauch, Zachary Smith, Danny Spann, Clark Young, Adam Vickery, Joshua Longmire, Bill Jones and Darel Carter.
The Dixie Majors League also has been divided into two different All-Star teamsthe Pre-majors or 14 and 15 year-olds and the Majors, 16 and 17 year-olds. Both of these teams will begin the tournament on June 30 at Patterson Field in Montgomery.
The All-Star roster for the pre-major team include Daniel Branum, James Cauthen, Ryan Duke, Michael Holleyfield, Ashley Lakes, Christopher McPherson, William Mixon, Justin Adam Moore, Tony Norris, Brian Owens, Edward Phelps, William Phillips, Joseph Ryan, Joshua Till, Michael Viers and Thomas Wright. The team's coaches are Wendell Phelps, James Cauthen and Barry Owens.
The Dixie Majors All-Stars are David Albert, Josh Beverly, Evan Brock, William Cates, Elisha Freeman, Thomas Garrard, Dustin Holt, Justin Kimbro, James Little, Benjamin Mixon, Christopher Moses, Adam Robertson, Jason Shaw, Gregory Steadham, Marshall Watts Jr. and David Wright. Coaches for the team are Tim Wright, Marc Nicholas and Roger Nicholas.
