Achiever Banquet set for May 4

Thursday, May 4 marks the third annual Achiever Award Banquet which recognizes local high school seniors for their achievements in several areas designed to "recognize tomorrow's leaders…today."
The Achiever Award, sponsored jointly by the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greenville Area YMCA, is an annual event that recognizes one male and one female student athlete from area schools who not only excel in the classroom and on the playing field, but also in church and community involvement. Young men and women from Greenville, Georgiana and McKenzie high schools and Fort Dale and Greenville academies will vie for this honor which is accompanied by the presentation of the Dr. Max Autrey Memorial Scholarship. The event will be held at the First Baptist Church of Greenville's Family Life Center beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The keynote speaker for the event will be Jeremiah Castille, a former football standout at the University of Alabama and the Denver Broncos.
