Errors committed by the Greenville High School Lady Tigers led to several big innings for the Wilcox-Central Lady Jaguars Thursday as they beat GHS, 16-5.

Wilcox-Central jumped on top of the Lady Tigers in the first inning, scoring seven runs.

Greenville had an opportunity in the bottom of the first to cut into the lead with bases loaded. However, the inning ended with a pop fly out with all three runners still on base.

The Lady Jaguars added two more runs in the second to make the score 9-0.

Greenville's Sophia Ruffin led off the bottom of the second with a single and came around to score on a double by Crystal Palmer for the Lady Tigers' first run of the game.

They brought another across in the third after Tabitha Lawley hit an RBI single to make the score 9-2.

The Tigers' defense was stronger in the middle innings and they were able to chip away at the Wilcox-Central lead.

But in the sixth the Lady Tigers gave up five more runs and fell to a 14-3 deficit.

In the bottom of the sixth, Jessica Crenshaw and Yolanda Crenshaw hit RBI singles to make the score 14-5.

Wilcox added two more in the seventh, making the final score, 16-5.
