On Monday, Relay For Life organizers will officially get things started during a Relay For Life kickoff party at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce at 5:30 p.m. This event is open to the public and organizers hope that many people will be in attendance to help them with ideas to raise money to be used to fight cancer.

We all know about the success that Relay For Life has had here in Butler County in the past. But, that does not assure success in the present. The only way to make 2000 equal up to other years is to have a complete community effort and a good time to start contributing is at the kickoff.

Everyone has had to deal with cancer. Whether it was a family member, a neighbor or yourself, only through continued research can we win the battle and rid our society of the threat of cancer. But, that research requires money and Relay For Life has been one of the leading fundraisers for cancer research across the nation.

Let us get out and show our support to those who are helping bring this extraordinary event to Butler County and show them that they can count on us to help make this the best Relay ever.
