E-poll showing commissioners public opinion

We began an electronic poll on The Greenville Advocate's Web site this week to try and guage public opinion about the county commission's idea to increase taxes in the county.
And, while there have been only a few votes to this point, those that have been voting are definitely against any kind of tax increase. As of this printing, there were about 25 total votes cast with 50 percent of those in favor of finding new sources of funding, 40 percent in favor of borrowing the money, five percent casting votes in favor of a sales tax and another five percent suggesting a property tax.
Although only a few have voted, a trend has already started to appear against any new taxes. We encourage the community to continue voting. If you do not have Internet access, call The Advocate and we will cast a vote for you. If you haven't already done so, call your commissioner and let him know how you feel. They need our help in making this important decision.
