Fort Dale varsity Eagles continue to win

The Fort Dale Academy girls team (7-1) defeated Monroe, Calvary and Meadview Academies in their last three games.
The varsity boys (5-3) recorded two wins after dropping a game to Calvary.
FDA coach Reggie Mantooth said the girls are playing well.
"They are showing signs of improvement from one game to the next," Mantooth said.
The Eagles beat Monroe on Dec. 7 at Monroeville 59-26.
Seniors Melissa Gilbert and Jami Barlow led the team with 15 points each.
In their 58-34 win against Calvary, senior Abbie Gardner scored a team game high 15 points while Gilbert and Barlow had 12 each.
Last Friday night, the Eagles defeated Meadowview 65-37 at home as Gilbert poured in 21 points.
On the boys' side, the Eagles recorded wins against Meadowview and Monroe while losing 74 to 65 to Calvary.
In the Monroe game, Adam Crenshaw scored the game winner with five seconds left for the 55-54 win. Senior Charles Mitchell led the team with 19 points and senior Marshall Watts had 15 points and 12 rebounds.
"They all played a great game and Adam had a clutch shot for us," Mantooth said.
The boys also beat Meadowview 71-65.
Crenshaw led the team with 18 points while shooting seven of nine from the field. Junior guard Bill Cates had 15 points while hitting three of five three-pointers.
"We were able to get a big lead and play a lot of guys,"
the coach said.
The Eagles will play in the Faith Academy Christmas Tournament in Mobile on Dec. 17 and 18.
