Be careful during holiday season

There is no doubt that for most people Christmas is the busiest, most hectic time of the year. Everyone knows that, including those looking to fill their sack with someone else's gifts. This is the reason that this holiday is one of the busiest times at the sheriff's office and police department as well as at malls and restaurants. While you are out shopping over the next few weeks keep in mind that there are people looking to take advantage of an unsuspecting victim. You never know how or when a crook will come, whether disguised as someone trustworthy or breaking out a window of a home while the owners are out shopping. Many of these crimes could be prevented if people would just take time to slow down. Do not leave gifts purchased at one store visible in your vehicle while you go to shop at another store. By taking a few extra seconds to think people could help assure their family a merry Christmas.
