Lady Eagles roll past Lady Vols

Fort Dale Academy’s Ashton Scott scored 14 points to help power the Lady Eagles to a 55-28 win over Monroe Academy Friday night in Monroeville.

Scott also pulled down five rebounds and tallied six steals for Fort Dale, which forced 44 Monroe turnovers.

AnJoy Castleberry chipped in 10 points and six steal, and Marion Lightfoot connected on 4-of-8 attempts en route to nine points for Fort Dale.

Madison Ann Gaston and Samantha Smith each scored six points.

Smith tallied six steals and Hannah Johnson recorded a team-best eight steals in the win.

Fort Dale is now 11-8 overall and 4-0 in area play.

The Lady Eagles were back in action Tuesday against Morgan Academy. Results were not available at press time.

Fort Dale will be back in action Friday when it plays host to Escambia Academy.

The game is slated to begin at 6 p.m.

 

Vols top Eagles

 

A cold-shooting performance sank Fort Dale Academy Friday night as the Eagles fell to Monroe Academy 55-47.

The Eagles connected on just 17-of-60 attempts, and were out rebounded by the Vols 43-27.

The loss dropped Fort Dale to 11-9 overall and 3-1 in area play.

Chip Taylor led the Eagles’ offensive charge. He finished with 28 points and seven rebounds.

Ryan Burkett added five points and Taylor Thomas and Hayden Davis each scored four points in the loss.

Fort Dale squared off with Morgan on Tuesday.

Results were not available at press time.

The Eagles will face Escambia Academy on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
