McKenzie had previously defeated Greenville 11-6 in the Butler County Tournament on March 1 and 17-4 in Greenville on March 7.

On Friday, McKenzie’s attack was led by Jeffrey Fuller.

Fuller banged out five hits in six at bats and drove in the game-winning run. He finished with four RBIs.

Tanner Davis turned in a 3-for-4 effort with three RBIs and Matt Lewis and Nicarius Peterson each finished with two hits and an RBI. Both Lewis and Peterson bagged doubles in the win.

Condie plated two runs and smacked a home run for McKenzie. Pugh also closed out the game on the mound with three strikeouts.

The win came on the heels of a split with J.U. Blacksher High School.

The Tigers topped J.U. Blacksher 5-3 on March 19 before falling 9-7 on Thursday.

In the win, Pugh was 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Roscoe Moorhead was 2-for-4 at the plate and earned the win by striking out nine batters in seven innings of work.

Ben Presley led the McKenzie offense in the loss to J.U. Blacksher with a 2-for-3 performance and two RBIs. Pugh was 2-for-2 with a double and a triple and Moorhead and Lewis were each 1-for-4 with an RBI.

McKenzie will be back in action Monday when it plays host to Class 5A Wilcox-Central High School. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
