Fort Dale Academy will face its toughest test of the season Friday night.

The Eagles (6-2) will host No. 1 Edgewood Academy.

The Wildcats own a perfect 9-0 record, the state’s No. 1 ranking according to the Alabama Sportswriters Association, and the last two Class AA state championships.

This season the Wildcats have outscored their opponents 483-149. They are averaging 53.7 points per game and have scored more than 60 points in four games.

Their lowest point total of the season is 40.

Meanwhile, the Wildcat defense is yielding just 16.6 points per game.

Fort Dale enters Friday’s game on a three-game winning streak after defeating Morgan Academy, Pike Liberal Arts School and Bessemer Academy.

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Fort Dale.
