Mary Davis Gingles

Gingles, Mary Davis Gingles, age 93, a resident of Greenville, AL, died on Sunday, June 17, 2012.  Funeral services will be held today at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Lizenby and Rev. Dr. Dean Moore officiating and Dunklin & Daniels directing.  Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gingles was preceded in death by her husband, James Bascom Gingles, parents, Houston Edward and Lessie Wilson Davis, sister, Gaynelle Loftin, brother, John Henry Davis, son- in- law, James Randolph Grayson. She is survived by her daughter, Marylyn Grayson of Greenville, Al, son, Dr. Richard B. Gingles (Grace) of Long Beach, MS, grandchildren, Dr. Amy V. Grayson of Prarieville, LA, Rachel Rutland (Jimmy) of Montgomery, AL, Beverly G. Kimmons (Kyle) of Newark, DE, Mary G. Woodruff (Dabbs) of Long Beach, MS, Cindy G. Ruff (Paul) of Starkville, MS, Houston “Mac” Gingles (Stephanie) of Wilsonville, AL, fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces.   Pallbearers will be Mac Gingles, Jimmy Rutland, Dabbs Woodruff, Cecil A. Rainey, Lamar Hall, and Paul Ruff.

Mrs. Gingles was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Greenville, AL where she was active in Sunday school and the women’s group.   She was also a member of the Eastern Star.  Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 112 Adams St., Greenville, AL 36037.
