Tuesday’s appearance by Davis will be his first in the Camellia City.

“Russell Davis and his magic shows have received rave reviews from fellow libraries across the state so we’re looking forward to having him join us,” said Library Director Kevin Pearcey. “We know the kids are going to enjoy it.”

Pearcey said the show is for all registered participants of this year’s Summer Reading program. Parents can register their child by visiting the library.

Following Tuesday’s kickoff, the schedule will run as follows starting on June 26:

υTUESDAYS – Ages 2 & 3, 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (note: parents MUST stay with children in this age group); Ages 4 & 5, 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

υTHURSDAYS – Completed K5 & 1st Grade, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Completed 2nd Grade to 4th Grade, 11 a.m. to Noon.

Reading logs will be provided and participants who achieve their reading goals will receive special prizes, said Pearcey. Also, “Dream Big-Read!” T-shirts will be available at a cost of $6 for those interested.

Summer Reading will conclude on Tuesday, July 24, when Be At Your Best’s Mark Seymour brings his high-energy musical performance to the library.

“Mark has been here before and the kids always enjoy participating and watching his shows,” said Pearcey.
