Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana for Mrs. Mary Alene Lee, 87, of Atlanta, Ga., who died on Monday, June 22, in Atlanta, Ga. Burial followed in Bushfield Cemetery in McKenzie. The Rev. Tirey Bowen officiated. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at Johnson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lee worked most of her life as a seamstress in both Andalusia and Atlanta, Ga. In her younger years, she enjoyed exercising – mainly speed walking. She also enjoyed spending time with her daughter, friends and family. She loved animals and gardening.
Her husband of just shy of 50 years, Thomas “Tommy” Leonard Lee; parents, Ruffin Moore and Molly Lee, and siblings, Harley Lee, Nellie Faye Flowers, Greeley Lee, Bertha Carpenter, Lora Lee and Zane Lee, preceded Mrs. Lee in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Lee Bowen (Chuck); several nieces and nephews, and several granddogs and grandcats.
Pallbearers were Larry Newton, Larry Michael Newton, Billy Wayne Lee, Cole Lee, Joey Peavy, and Michael Peavy.
