Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Central Baptist Church for Mrs. Mary Scott “Scottie” Roper, 83, who passed away on Monday, March 25, in Greenville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Bro. Herbert Brown will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.

Her her parents, Scott and Ila Ruth Newton, and her sister and brother-in-law, Alice Claire and Grady Petty, preceded Mrs. Roper in death.

Survivors include her husband, Julian Wayne Roper; sister, Sarah Lewis (Hollis); brother, Bob Newton (Janelle), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home is directing.
