Crenshaw Christian Academy will welcome Jackson Academy in first round action of the AISA playoffs Friday night.

Cougars head coach Greg Gibson said it would not be an easy feat.

“They played some pretty good competition and have three good backs,” he said. Gibson said the Eagles know how to run the ball well, too.

“We can beat them if we play like we are supposed to,” he said.

The Cougars have a host of backs gunning for the end zone. All are in good shape, assured Gibson.

Quarterback Colten Kelley is also looking great for the playoffs.

“Colten had his best game all year Friday night,” Gibson said.

He noticed a difference during the Oct. 24 Autauga game and Kelley has continued to make the plays the Cougars need.

At Friday’s game, he was 6 for 124 yards with two touchdowns, a 25-yard touchdown run and an interception.

Friday’s game starts at 7 p.m.
