James A. Phelps, 85, a resident of Greenville, died on June 2. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Hogwood officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. James is survived by his wife, Peggy Phelps of Greenville; daughters, Lisa Cook (William) of Montgomery, Ala., and Donna Hunt (Steve) of Greenville; son, Alan Phelps of Greenville; grandchildren, Taryn Cook, Andrew Phelps, Sarah Cox, Thomas Phelps and Steven Hunt; and great-grandchildren, Taven Cox and Austin Cox.
