The City of Greenville is set to present its 20th annual Celebrate America Fireworks Show July 4 at 8:30 p.m. Festivities will take place just below Tiger Stadium behind Greenville Elementary School.
Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tracy Salter noted that the stadium will be open to the public for seating on the bleachers or the field.
“Simply find a perfect spot in town to park your car or pop up a comfy chair on your porch or lawn, and enjoy the beautiful fireworks display,” Salter said.
The gates for stadium seating will open at 7:30 p.m. and close at 9:30 p.m. Salter also mentioned that local food trucks will be on site from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the upper parking lot and as with any other event held at the stadium, no animals are allowed inside the area.
“This is a family-friendly fireworks display with an opportunity to view the show in stadium seating and there will be tasty treats on site with local food trucks,” Salter said. “So be sure to get out and support the event,” she added.
Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon emphasized the significance of the annual event.
“The City of Greenville has sponsored this annual fireworks show for 20 years and it’s always an impressive show enjoyed by everyone in the community,” McLendon said.
The mayor assured citizens that this year’s display will be spectacular, promising a large and impressive patriotic fanfare.
