The Greenville High School JROTC Tiger Battalion returned to Greenville on Saturday, March 23, following an impressive showing at the Alabama State Drill Championships, the state’s premier competition. The cadets excelled, clinching five trophies in various categories.
Their most significant achievement was securing the First Place AL State Championship in Armed Regulation. Additionally, they placed second in the unarmed exhibition, third in unarmed regulation, third in armed inspection, and third in armed solo, with Mason Godwin earning that accolade. Senior Army Instructor, Col. Alan Hester, accompanied the students and said that it was the students’ diligence and dedication that earned their victories.
“This performance was the culmination of a lot of hard work, practice, and perseverance,” Hester said. “It was a great job by all! Go Tigers!”
