The Butler County Humane Society, known for its unwavering commitment to fostering and rehoming animals in need, recently celebrated a heartwarming success story with the adoption of Biscuit, now lovingly known as Bea.

According to Cory Rice, a dedicated member of the Butler County Humane Society, Bea’s journey began when she was discovered abandoned on the side of the road.

“We found Biscuit on the side of the road,” Rice said. “She was sick and scared, but within a few days, she was comfortable and just wanted to be cuddled.”

Despite the initial challenges Biscuit faced, Rice noted that the resilient pup quickly adapted to her new environment.

“Within just a few more days, we let her out with the ‘yard gang’ and she would just follow us around like a sweet girl,” Rice said.

To increase Biscuit’s chances of finding a forever home, the Butler County Humane Society sent her to be fostered by Jeff and Diana Hanson in Chanhassen, Minnesota. However, fate had a different plan in store for Biscuit and the Hanson family.

“We cried when we had to send her to the rescue in Minnesota, but we wanted her to find a great home,” Rice said.

After just a few days of fostering Biscuit, the Hanson family knew they had found a permanent addition to their family.

“My wife and I agreed to foster Biscuit so she could come up to Minnesota and find her forever home,” Chad Hanson said. “We failed as fosters in about 3 days. Biscuit, now Bea, is a keeper.”

Bea has since settled into her new home, joining her new companion Addelita, another rescue dog.

“We lost our dog of 15 years about two months ago, and our other rescue dog needed a playmate,” Chad Hanson shared. “Addelita and Bea are besties already and they run around like a couple of gazelles.”
