The Greenville High School girls’ softball team launched their annual “Lady Tigers Bash” on Feb. 24 with a new name. The round-robin tournament is now formally known as the Rodney “Rollo” Bush Tournament in honor of longtime school supporter Rodney Bush, who passed away in October 2023.
Greenville High School Athletic Director Garrick Pimienta was present as Bush’s young nephew threw the first pitch.
“Rollo served Greenville High for many years, doing the booster club and all kinds of other clubs too,” Pimienta said. “We just wanted to honor everything he did to support the school and the sacrifices he made.”
The Lady Tigers were the runners-up, with Oak Grove School claiming first place in the tournament.
