Book Club

The No Stress Book Club will be held at 4 p.m. every second and fourth Wednesday of month at the Greenville Butler County Public Library, located at 309 Fort Dale Road.

 

Tree Giveaway

The Alabama Forestry Commission will hold a tree giveaway Feb. 23 at Confederate Park from 8 a.m. while supplies last. The event is first come, first served.

 

History Program

Judge J.C. Love, III, probate judge of Montgomery County, will serve as the Black History Month speaker at Butler Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church on Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. The theme is “Stony the Road We Trod.”  For more information call (251) 302-8562.

 

Blood Drive

Walmart in Greenville will host a LifeSouth blood drive Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Medieval Festival

The Alabama Medieval Fantasy Festival will be held March 2-3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 per day for Adults, $10 per day for children 5-12. Children under 5 enter free.

 

Fairytale Party

The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Greenville-Butler County Library and Greenville Parks and Recreation to host a Fairytale Party March 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Beeland Park Community Center. Tickets include one child and one adult and are available at the chamber or the library for $30. 

 

Spring Break

Fort Dale Academy’s Spring Break is March 18-22. Butler County Schools will have Spring Break March 25-29.

 

Pioneer Scholarship

Interested in a career as a utility cooperative lineworker? Graduating high school seniors are eligible to compete for two $5,000 lineworker scholarships from Pioneer Electric Cooperative. Applications are due Feb. 23, 2024. Apply online at www.pioneerelectric.com/scholarship

Grant Cycle

Celebrate Recovery 

Celebrate Recovery meets every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 760 N. Conecuh St. in Greenville. The group deals with all types of issues and is free to the public. For more information call 334-382-2138.

 

Quilt Club 

Quilt Club meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Greenville-Butler Co. Public Library. Beginner and advanced quilters welcome. 

 

Music Class

FUMC is hosting a juniors music class for elementary kids aged 4-10 at 6 p.m. on Wednesday nights at 112 Adams St. Singing, handbells, and rhythm instruments. Call  382-5872 for more info.

 

Knitting Club 

Quilt Club meets every Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Greenville-Butler Co. Public Library. Beginner and advanced knitters welcome.
