It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mr. Jimmy Lee Hartin on Jan. 30, after a battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Georgiana, his loss has been felt deeply across the community.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 11 at 3 pm at Brushy Creek Baptist Church, his home for worship and fellowship since childhood. This date would have been his 72nd birthday.
He is survived by his loving children, Tiffany Hartin Barber (Stephen Barber) and Michael Hartin; his cherished granddaughter, Madilyn Hartin, whom he proudly boasted as his life’s greatest Blessing; and his younger brother, Jerry Hartin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hartin is predeceased by his mother and father, Iva Lee and Gaylous Hartin, Sr.; as well as his siblings, James Hartin, Myrtle Gaston, Ruby Sanders, “Junior” Hartin, Elsie Stinson, “Charlie” Hartin, and Barry Hartin.
Through his dedication to medicine as a paramedic, he left an indelible mark that will linger. Most of his adult life was spent passionately channeling his love of helping others into his work, with an unwavering commitment to service. He created a lasting legacy which will echo through the community for generations to come.
Jimmy left a profound imprint on the heart of each and every person he met. His memory will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege to know him. He will continue to live on through precious memories and beautiful stories from the hearts of those who love him.
