With the “season of giving” alive, local shelter and rescue animals are in need of a warm and loving home to be fostered in or adopted into as a part of the family. For anyone who has room in their homes and hearts for some of life’s most precious companions, the Greenville Animal Shelter and Greenville Humane Society have a full house of lovable personalities ready for a loving home.

Poca showed up on a rainy day to Humane Society volunteer Cory Rice’s house, starved and limping with a broken hip. Even with the odds against her, she still hobbled up to Rice with a smile on her friendly face. She has since had hip surgery and is on the road to recovery. Her tragic past does not seem to have left any mark on her sweet and playful spirit. Poca is an intelligent and popular pup, and would be great in any household due to her loving personality.
