Below are upcoming and weekly events taking place in Butler County.

Teen Challenge

Ed Wilson from Alabama Teen Challenge will be the special speaker at First Assembly of God on Nov. 26 at 10:30 a.m. The message is for teens and adults.  The church is located at 760 North Conecuh Street in Greenville.

Blood Drive

LifeSouth Community Blood Center will have a blood drive in the Walmart parking lot in Greenville on Nov. 26 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. 


Food for Fines 

During November, the Greenville-Butler Co. Public Library will waive $1 in fines per donated canned or boxed food for the area food banks. Food must be non-perishable and unexpired. Call 382-3216 for more information.

Pet Pics

The Butler County Humane Society will host Kitty Palooza and Pics with Pets, for your furry loved ones to take pictures with Santa (cost is $20), on December 2 from 10a.m. to 2p.m. at Sonya’s Dance Studio downtown. For more info call 334-437-2150.

Holiday Fest

A free Holiday Street Fest will be held in the streets of downtown Georgiana on Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Retired Luncheon 

The Board of Education will host a luncheon in honor of the retired employees of the School Systems on Dec. 13 at 11:30 a.m. in the Central Office Boardroom at 949 Oglesby Street in Greenville. Humane Meeting

The Butler County Humane Society will hold its regular meeting from 12-1 p.m. on Dec. 13 at Cambrian Ridge.

Celebrate Recovery 

Celebrate Recovery meets every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 760 N. Conecuh St. in Greenville. The group deals with all types of issues and is free to the public. For more information call 334-382-2138.


Quilt Club 

Quilt Club meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Greenville-Butler Co. Public Library. Beginner and advanced quilters welcome. 


Music Class

FUMC is hosting a juniors music class for elementary kids aged 4-10 at 6 p.m. on Wednesday nights at 112 Adams St. Singing, handbells, and rhythm instruments. Call  382-5872 for more info.


Knitting Club 

Quilt Club meets every Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Greenville-Butler Co. Public Library. Beginner and advanced knitters welcome. 


Meet & Greet

Beeland Park Building will host a “Roundtable Talk with Veterans” about benefits, opportunities, claims, PACT ACT, and support every Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Contact: Gloria Owens: 334-368-0540 for more information.
