“During the second half of the game our team just began showing characteristics that we haven’t shown all season,” Pimienta said. “Our effort deteriorated with adversity and that was disappointing. We have to show resilience in all situations, not just when it’s easy.”

The only Greenville touchdown of the game was made by No. 7 BJ Dickerson with a 50-yard pass to No. 1 Bobby Bedgood Jr.

Demopolis head coach Lance Tucker  said he is proud of his team’s win.

“Our kids played hard and found a way to win against a really good Greenville team,” Tucker said. “I’m proud of the way they made adjustments at the half and came out and played well the second half.”

The Greenville Tigers travel to play their last game against Russell County on Nov. 3.

Mckenzie Tigers

In spite of Friday’s loss to Houston County, McKenzie School head coach Brian Bradford said it has been a good season so far.

“I’m proud of how far these guys have come in such a short time,” Bradford said. “We will go to Elba for the last game of the season, and they are the best team that we will have faced. We will approach it just like we have each game this season, by working on ourselves and working to be the best team that we are capable of being.”

Running back No. 7 Johnathan Davidson made two touchdown runs, and quarterback No. 2 Jaylen McMillian threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver No. 1 Skylar Sanders. Sanders completed a 43-yard and a 38-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver No. 11 Jay Jackson.

McKenzie will travel to face Elba on Nov. 3 to end their season.
