The McKenzie Tigers celebrated another triumph against J.U. Blacksher Bulldogs 38-16 on Friday night, making it a 4-2 season so far. The Greenville Tigers took another loss against Headland 12-36 just ahead of their homecoming opening in the new Tiger Stadium.

Head coach Brian Bradford said the McKenzie players’ sites are focused on the playoffs.

“Last night was a great road win for us,” Bradford said. “The guys were determined to take up where we left off before the off week. The goal for the next four weeks is to continue to get better every week and to peak when we reach the playoffs.”

Greenville head coach Garrick Pimienta said Friday’s game was frustrating with many mistakes.

“The loss last night was disappointing,” Pimienta said. “We made a ton of mistakes that are both frustrating and disappointing. We look to come back to work this week with attention to detail and correct the mistakes that were made this week.”

The Tiger’s quarterback No. 7, B.J. Dickerson, threw a 52 yard pass to wide receiver No. 2, Tyler Palmer, and scored a 14 yard rushing touchdown.
