The Butler County Republican Executive Committee has announced qualifying dates for the upcoming 2024 election cycle. Candidates interested in running for office as a Republican during the 2024 election may qualify beginning Monday, Oct. 16, at 8:30 a.m. through Friday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. by contacting Chairman Cliff Burkett to file a declaration of candidacy and pay the appropriate fees.
The Primary Election is set for March 5, 2024. The General Election is set for Nov. 5, 2024.
“We anticipate a large slate of Republicans running for local offices this time around,” Burkett said in a release to the Greenville Advocate. “At present time we have several locally elected Republicans and we anticipate a few others switching over to our party before the election.”
In addition to the presidential race, other offices on the 2024 ballot include all seven U.S. House seats, several Alabama Appellate Court positions, Alabama House of Representatives, Probate Judge, Circuit Courts, District Courts, Circuit Clerks, State and County Board of Education seats, and several County Commission seats.
Burkett added, “The public’s disdain of the current Federal Government and the local support for Republican candidates should create a large GOP turnout for the primary…we’re excited!” For more details and updates, visit the Butler County Alabama GOP Facebook page.
